South Africa’s most popular vehicle, Toyota Hilux, has been voted the ‘Best Commercial Vehicle’ in The Star Readers’ Choice 2018.

The accolade comes a month after the model’s double cab version was named the best pre-owned car in its segment. The Hilux, which boasts the best resale value when compared to its closest sales competitor, has been recording average sales of more than 3 000 units a month.
Research suggests that the important criteria for buyers in this market are: resale value, quality, durability, overall performance, economy and especially, outright value for money of various vehicles offered for sale in South Africa.
“Toyota has already won several awards in other sectors, including consumer, pre-owned, quality assurance, dealer network as well as rental. However, we don’t take any of the awards we win for granted – we know they are a result of our strong work ethic displayed by our dealer network, manufacturing plant and staff at the head office. The accolade from The Star Readers’ Choice 2018 is an indication that our products have a mass appeal,” says Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Calvyn Hamman.
