Toyota wishes the Murial Brand School
Sandton, Johannesburg – On behalf of the South African Sports Association for Physically Disabled (SASAPD), Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) is proud to announce the handover of a brand-new Toyota Quantum to the Muriel Brand School for Learners with Special Educational Needs, at a handover ceremony which took place on 9 September 2022.

The handover is the culmination of a long and fruitful sponsorship agreement between TSAM and SASAPD – aimed at supporting the federation’s ambition to promote sporting codes offered at the Paralympic-level for local athletes living with physical disabilities and visual impairments. To date, TSAM and SASAPD have collaboratively handed over four buses in total, with past winners being deserving schools from varying parts of the country.

During the handover ceremony, Mookie Grobbelaar – SASAPD President, expressed sincere gratitude to TSAM for providing the vehicles and reiterated the importance of inclusion and representation in sport.

Grobbelaar added, “As we get the next edition of the championships underway, I would like to extend my gratitude to the City of Ekurhuleni, our title sponsor Toyota South Africa Motors, DSAC, NLC, partners and the Gauteng local organising committee for all the support and hard work that has gone into presenting these championships”.

The partnership is one of TSAM’s many endeavours for promoting the company’s Mobility for All campaign. Mobility for All is a Toyota philosophy where we aim to transform the way people move throughout the world and in doing so, create solutions to the mobility barriers that limit human potential.

This campaign lends itself rather aptly to Toyota’s corporate theme titled Start Your Impossible – which is an impassioned call to action designed to create a more sustainable environment in which every single human being is encouraged to reach for and attain their personal best. This notion reinforces Toyota’s goal of moving from an automobile – to a mobility company that highlights real-life mobility stories. Likewise, Leon Theron, Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing (TSAM) also highlighted the importance of the campaign.

“At Toyota, we believe that movement and mobility in all its definitions are all around us. Sport has the power to connect people. This is where we learn the true power of sport – it can challenge us, improve us and, most importantly, unify us. As the worldwide official mobility partner of the International Olympic Committee and the International Paralympic Committee, Toyota shares the vision to inspire people to push onward – past their finish line, past their impossible”.

Toyota would like to extend an official congratulatory nod to the Murial Brand School. Their hard work over the last couple of years did not go unnoticed. Toyota wishes the Murial Brand School great success as they prepare for the next leg of the SASAPD National Championships.
