Two top honours for KIA Telluride in Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy Awards
{LOS ANGELES, U.S.A) 21 November 2019 – As the brand introduces its latest SUV – the KIA Seltos – to its American audience at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week, KIA Motors certainly has multiple reasons to be confident of its success. The Korean brand’s biggest SUV, the Telluride, has been on sale for less than a year, but it has certainly won the hearts and minds of the press. And with more than 45,000 units sold in the U.S.A to date, its customers also seem to be in love.
Top honours from Kelley Blue Book
The KIA Telluride has been named a winner in two categories of Kelley Blue Book’s 2020 Best Buy Awards, specifically in the Best New Model and 3-Row Midsize SUV segments. The awards come after a yearlong process of head-to-head testing, evaluation and data analysis of hundreds of 2020 model-year vehicles.
“The Telluride impressed everyone on the editorial team with its eye-catching styling, notable driving dynamics, all-inclusive list of standard features, and well-integrated safety technology,” said Michael Harley, executive editor for Kelley Blue Book. “Even more striking is the crossover’s extremely attractive price, which alludes that ‘value’ is the Telluride’s middle name.”
To select the winners of the Best Buy Awards, Kelley Blue Book evaluated more than 300 new models available for 2020, with a specific emphasis on the best combination of quality, safety, comfort, driving dynamics, dependability, low ownership costs and affordability. As part of their decision-making process, Kelley Blue Book’s experts also analyse a wide array of vehicle-related data, including vehicle pricing, 5-year cost-to-own data, consumer reviews and ratings, and vehicle sales information. These prestigious awards provide a helpful service by allowing shoppers to narrow their new-car consideration list and purchase a new vehicle with confidence.
MotorTrend SUV of the Year
Authoritative American publication, MotorTrend, this week also awarded the KIA Telluride with their 2020 SUV of the Year Award. With its comfortable and functional interior, the Telluride stood out as a well-rounded product that meets the needs of today’s modern family, while its terrific value solidified it as a winner in the SUV segment.
“This year’s MotorTrend SUV of the Year competition was one of the most competitive we’ve ever had, which makes KIA Telluride’s win all the more significant,” said MotorTrend Editor-in-Chief Edward Loh. “Telluride absolutely nails our awards criteria – it’s gorgeous, spacious, technology-laden, and offers a great ride for an astonishingly fair price. Congratulations to KIA and the Telluride team.”
With a more than 20-year history, the MotorTrend SUV of the Year award is one of the most sought-after honours by global automotive manufacturers. Vehicles are evaluated against six key criteria: safety, efficiency, value, advancement in design, engineering excellence and performance of intended function to determine the finalists and ultimately, the winners.
