When most new vehicle shoppers think of “value,” they usually overlook an important piece of the equation: Cost of ownership.

For 2021, LEAF is available in two version
For the past 10 years, KBB.com has been helping new car buyers consider depreciation, fuel costs, maintenance and other factors in its annual 5-Year Cost to Own Awards, which for 2021 includes the Nissan LEAF and Nissan Armada. LEAF has now won the KBB.com Electric Vehicle category for four consecutive years. Armada garnered the top position in the FullSize SUV segment.

“Choosing a car with low ownership costs can help shoppers save a significant amount of money over time – often several hundred and sometimes even thousands of dollars – so it’s worthwhile to research the cost to own details of any new car you’re considering,” said Eric Ibara, director of residual values for Kelley Blue Book.

For 2021, LEAF is available in two versions – LEAF and the extended-range LEAF PLUS – to meet the driving needs of a wide range of customers. LEAF comes standard with a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery and 110-kW motor, delivering an estimated EPA range of up to 149 miles1. LEAF PLUS has a standard 62-kWh lithium-ion battery and 160 kW electric motor, delivering an estimated EPA range of up to 226 miles2. Every LEAF offers a comprehensive suite of advanced technologies, including available ProPILOT Assist, standard Safety Shield® 360 and NissanConnect® services.

The new 2021 Armada, Nissan’s flagship SUV, features an extensively redesigned exterior that includes a new grille, hood, front fenders, front and rear bumpers, and new LED headlights and taillights. Inside, the contemporary redesigned interior offers simplified everyday usage and an enhanced experience for driver and passengers. A redesigned center stack is anchored by a new standard 12.3-inch color display – the largest in class3 – with seamless technology like standard Wi-Fi, standard wireless Apple CarPlay® and available wireless smartphone charging. Powered by a proven 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engine, the 2021 Armada offers best-in-class4 standard 400 horsepower and best-in-class5 standard 8,500 lbs. maximum towing capacity.

Available for new models on Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com, 5-Year Cost to Own information takes into consideration depreciation, expected fuel costs, finance and insurance fees, maintenance and repair costs, and state fees. This data allows new-car shoppers to see the big picture of what a new vehicle will cost them over time, helping them to save money by choosing a vehicle that best meets their needs and their long-term budget.
