The limited-edition model is based on the widely popular Acenta trim, and gains red accents on the interior and exterior, along with additional features.

Nissan has added a racy new upgrade to its Magnite range
Rosslyn, South Africa – November 14, 2022 – Nissan has added a racy new upgrade to its Magnite range, with the striking Red Edition now destined for South African shores.

On the outside, the red accents are tactfully placed to enhance the distinctive curves and edges which shape the Magnite. There are also sporty red brake calipers, exclusive badges and graphics, and a chrome garnish on the tail door.

Inside, the Magnite’s ergonomic cockpit is amplified by stylish red accents, a red-themed dashboard and LED scuff plates. Motorists can also enjoy wireless charging, which comes standard across the Magnite range. Onyx Black and Storm White are the two base colour choices for the Magnite Red Edition.

“The Magnite Red Edition harnesses Nissan’s racing pedigree to make a statement in South Africa’s crossover market. We wanted to manifest our customers’ passion for adventure and thrill in the design and ignite their passion for driving. We believe the Red Edition will accelerate the already robust demand for the Magnite, with an evolved offering for young, aspirational, and tech-savvy customers,” said Stefan Haasbroek, Marketing Director at Nissan Africa.

The limited edition uses the same 1.0-litre turbocharged powerplant available across the range which, when coupled with either the exhilarating CVT or manual gearboxes, offers a fast, efficient, and smooth driving experience – ideal for bumper-to-bumper traffic or winding highways.

“With escalating fuel prices in South Africa – and around the world – drivers justifiably want more kilometers for their buck. The Magnite’s three-cylinder engine is as frugal as it is powerful, with an average fuel consumption of only 5,27l/100km on the Manual variant and 6,0 on the CVT models. Further leveraging Nissan’s strong DNA in the SUV market, the Magnite Red Edition is a crossover that blends the best of both worlds: the space and comfort of an SUV with the agility and wieldiness of a city commuter,” said Haasbroek.

The Magnite Red Edition also features an extensive range of driver aids, with intuitive systems like ABS, EBD, Traction Control, Nissan’s Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and cruise control. Inside, Nissan’s 8-inch touch-operated infotainment system is the mantelpiece of the slick interior, offering seamless connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Only 600 units of the Magnite Red Edition will initially be available in South Africa from the 3rd of November 2022, with prices starting from R298 300.
