Building on its predecessor’s proven efficiency, reliability, safety, and comfort, the new Coach Chassis sets the standard in the coach segment. Mercedes-Benz Buses meticulously designed the new Coach Chassis for the tough Southern Africa terrain, with multiple options for body builders - continuing on its long-standing tradition of working with locally renowned body builders to offer tailored bodies that are suitable for operator business requirements.

Mercedes-Benz Buses continuously improves its existing product offering through ongoing inputs from its customers and integrates all that know-how expertise into offering total solutions that are tailored to specific operators’ needs. A prime example, the new Coach Chassis is available with an all-inclusive Service and Maintenance Contract package and in-house tailor-made finance solutions through Daimler Truck Financial Services (DTFS).

Sustained power under all driving conditions

The new 0500 RSD 2442 Coach Chassis comes standard with a trusted 6-cylinder, OM 457 engine coupled with a new automatic gearbox which ensures maximum efficiency, reliability, and durability.


Enhanced safety, driver comfort, and efficient driving performance

Safety in the new Coach Chassis is top priority, and to achieve this the new model is fully equipped with advanced safety systems such as the electronic brake system (EBS), electronic stability control (ESP) and anti-lock braking system (ABS), making it one of the safest buses yet.

Another impressive well-thought-out safety feature added in the new Coach Chassis is the ASR-anti slip regulation which limits wheel spin in wet and gravel conditions. This provides huge savings on tyres and maintenance costs.

Furthermore, comfort and ease of operation are at the core in the new Coach Chassis with better driver ergonomics - offering automatic transmission, adjustable steering column, cruise control, and air suspension with level control. This enable drivers to optimize their driving positions to maximize comfort and minimize fatigue.

In addition to this, the new cluster in the new Coach Chassis provides the drivers’ area with a completely new interface for information and communication, making it easier to view and manage different functions, creating less distraction.
