Land Rover’s squad of Defender ambassadors
Trevor Nyakane, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Duane Vermeulen and Bongi Mbonambi take delivery of new Defender 110s as part of their Land Rover ambassadorships
now includes six World Champion Springbok and British & Irish Lions Tour players

Land Rover South Africa has announced additions to its squad of Defender ambassadors, with Springbok rugby players and current brand ambassadors Trevor Nyakane, Pieter-Steph du Toit, Duane Vermeulen and Bongi Mbonambi taking deliveries of new Defender 110s.
The four players join Lukhanyo Am and Bryan Habana, who also received new Defender 110s as part of their ambassadorships earlier this year
As Official Vehicle of the British & Irish Lions Tour, Land Rover also loaned a fleet of 11 new Discoverys to both teams for the duration of the tournament
Land Rover has a 20-year heritage and commitment to rugby that spans all levels of the game from grassroots to the world stage
Land Rover was also the Official Vehicle of this year’s British & Irish Lions Tour to South Africa. As part of the partnership a fleet of 11 new Discoverys was loaned to the Tour to keep players and members of management from both sides mobile for the duration of the tournament.
Trevor Nyakane said: “I feel privileged to be part of Land Rover’s ambassador programme and to be officially welcomed to #TeamDefender. As part of the winning 2021 Springbok team against the British & Irish Lions, I know all about conquering great challenges, and this vehicle aligns perfectly with what we stand for - grit, courage and determination. Pieter-Steph du Toit said: “The Defender is a symbol of modern strength and I can’t think of a vehicle that suits my lifestyle and profession better. It’s big, tough and I look forward to my time with it. I’m already planning some exciting adventures.”
