The refreshed Kia Rio was introduced to the South African marketing in December 2020, featuring a subtly refreshed exterior, two new exterior colour options, and a repositioning of the range to offer customers more features and more value throughout the range.
“Kia’s transformation into a world-class car company has earned the brand significant accolades across its entire vehicle line-up, and this latest honour from Vincentric is further testament to Kia’s commitment to quality and value,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO, Kia America. “We are proud to have a company like Vincentric recognise the Rio for its significance in a segment very important to many families.”
The refreshed Kia Rio is an attractive option for customers looking for stylish efficiency and a strong value proposition. “The Kia Rio had the lowest repair and depreciation costs of all Subcompact Hatchback vehicles,” said David Wurster, president, Vincentric. “These low costs helped the Rio outperform the competition for the 2021 Vincentric Best Value in America Awards and prove its strong value in the consumer market.”
The Rio remains a popular and important model in the KIA line-up, and with the latest revisions to its design aesthetic and better infotainment and connectivity features, our approach is to build on the Rio’s key strengths and augment the inherent practicality and quality of the model,” says Gary Scott, CEO, Kia South Africa.
Pricing for the refreshed Kia Rio range starts at R280,995 for the feature-packed new Rio 1.2 LS, and all models ship as standard with KIA’s Unlimited Kilometre/ 5-year warranty – inclusive of five years’ roadside assistance (also unlimited kilometres). The Rio 1.2 LS includes a 2-year/60,000km Service Plan, while all 1.4-litre models includes a 4-year/60,000km Service Plan.
