And while you’re in town, take a short, 15-minute drive to the Datsun Heritage Museum to get a sneak peak of Datsun’s old and new.

Here, car-collector Freek de Kock has built up a collection of rare and special Datsun and Nissan models that remains unrivalled outside of Nissan’s own vehicle museum in Japan, Zama Garage.

“We have over 200 models at our museum, of which many are in pristine condition, while others are in different stages of restoration,” says De Kock. “We look forward to welcoming fellow enthusiasts and Datsun fans, especially during this week’s NAMPO show outside of town.”

Datsun in South Africa

The Datsun GO is not only South Africa’s reigning cost-champion as indicated by the annual Kinsey Report, but the brand also recently launched its new Datsun GO and GO+ that’s stylish and comes with great new features and safety qualities. Standard specifications include coloured electric side mirrors, Apple & Android Auto CarPlay, reverse parking sensors, intermittent wipers, central locking, an immobilizer, ABS, driver and passenger airbags, and retractable seatbelts.

“We are thrilled to be back at Nampo this year as we continue to rekindle with our Datsun roots in South Africa. For those of you that still needs some convincing, a visit to the Datsun heritage museum – that’s now open to the public - is a brilliant idea to pick-up that love affair that you always knew existed,” says Kabelo Rabotho, Director of Marketing, Nissan South Africa.

Customers will now be able to own the zippy Datsun GO Mid Spec for R1999 per month, or the Datsun GO+ Mid Spec for R2260 per month. This is with a 10% deposit.

This new offer means that you could be the proud owner of the Datsun GO for as little as R75 a day, excluding the monthly admin fee.

All new Datsun vehicles are now covered by a Datsun Warranty of six-years/150 000 kilometres, doubling the amount of time the customer can enjoy care-free motoring. As part of this warranty, Datsun will also offer road-side assistance and customer contact centre that will be available for customers to call toll-free every hour of the day, every day of the year.
