Brand New Chapter for Lexus – the future is electrified
Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) held a press briefing on its battery EV (BEV) strategies in December last year.

Global President of TMC and Lexus Brand Holder, Akio Toyoda, shared his vision for the future mobility and announced that Lexus will expand its offering of BEVs, providing safety, security, and convenience for all customers- no matter their needs.

Lexus has released a gallery of new photos and animations of its next generation battery EV sports car. The model was first revealed at the aforementioned press conference. The new sports model will be part of a full line-up of battery EVs Lexus will launch by 2030 under its Lexus Electrified brand vision.
Through Lexus Electrified, the company aims to fully leverage the potential of electrification to increase the joy of driving for all its customers. It will also deliver the rewards of the Lexus Driving Signature, a unique driving experience founded on linear vehicle responses that are constantly faithful to the driver’s intentions, with seamless connection of deceleration, steering and acceleration at all times.
With the bold proportions and low ride height required for a high-performance sports car, the new model symbolises the future of the Lexus brand while also reviving the spirit of the iconic Lexus LFA. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h will be in the low two-second range and the cruising distance will exceed 700 km, thanks to the possible use of solid-state batteries.
Through its development of battery EV vehicles, Lexus will evolve into a brand that offers a range of driving experiences, harnessing its unique performance development capabilities, and honing its craft of making products that are ever more personalised in their performance, quality and appeal.

Lexus comments: “We will deliver a unique electrified Lexus that combines linear motor acceleration/deceleration, brake feeling and exhilarating handling to further pursue the joy of driving. In particular, we believe that the Battery EV will become the future symbol of Lexus as a model that most clearly expresses the evolution of the automobile brought about by electrification.”

1. Lexus BEV Sport: With dynamic proportions and sleek lines, cultivated from the development of the LFA.
2. Lexus RZ 450 e: The future is the Lexus RZ. The brand’s first fully electric vehicle.
3. Sedan Carousel: The Lexus Electrified Sedan. No matter the journey, it’s the most refined drive yet.
