Peugeot 208 wins 2020 European Car of the Year
The new Peugeot 208 triumphed over BMW 1 Series, Ford Puma, Porsche Taycan, Renault Clio, Tesla Model 3 and Toyota Corolla to clinch the title of 2020 European Car of the Year.
The 208 beat six finalists to claim the prestigious award.
The COTY jury, composed of 60 automotive experts across Europe, praised the all-new PEUGEOT 208 for its sharp and dynamic design and its distinctive customer offering in the sector.
Judges were also impressed by the high levels of technology offered in the all-new 208. The next-generation PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit® introduces innovative hologram technology. The 3D holograms, displayed on the configurable 3D head-up display, get closer to the drivers’ field of vision to highlight potential hazards.
The all-new 208 also features driving assistance technologies usually reserved for larger vehicle segments, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Active Lane Positioning Assist, and comes standard with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto connectivity.
South African consumers can expect to experience the all-new 208 towards the end of 2020.
